The primary purpose of the app The Music Star is to play back music and other audio material to a user. The typical user is a patient at a healthcare facility.
A secondary purpose is to log the usage of the app, especially which music is played and when. This data is used for scientific and care purposes by the staff at the healthcare facility.
Usage data can be accessed in two different ways:
No data is transmitted automatically.
The app is designed to run in Kiosk Mode, where access to the settings page is disabled. The healthcare staff makes the appropriate settings and switches the device to Kiosk Mode for normal use.
The microphone is used to detect the level of the surrounding noise and the app adjusts the playback level accordingly. The audio is only used for this realtime purpose and is not stored.
